چکیده

This paper describes the evolution in time and space of the submerged vegetation in a lagoon. This model was developed for the Orbetello Lagoon Management Office to predict the development of both macroalgae and macrophytes and test the actions to favour the latter. Based on a previous model describing the interactions between nutrients and the submerged vegetation, this paper presents a further improvement introducing a cellular automata to describe the dynamics of wigeongrass (Ruppia maritima) and a hydrodynamic model for the water movements. The link among them is represented by the dependence of friction coefficients from the vegetation density. Copyright © 2005 IFAC

Modelling the impacts of reservoir operations on the downstream riparian vegetation and fish habitats in the Lijiang River

River flow regulations have great impact on the downstream aquatic ecosystem. It is important to investigate the response of target species to the changes in hydrological regimes so that we can explore possible remediation measures. Ecohydraulics models that integrate hydrodynamics processes and ecological processes have been shown to be efficient in achieving these objectives. This study devel...

Edge Detection Based On Nearest Neighbor Linear Cellular Automata Rules and Fuzzy Rule Based System

Edge Detection is an important task for sharpening the boundary of images to detect the region of interest. This paper applies a linear cellular automata rules and a Mamdani Fuzzy inference model for edge detection in both monochromatic and the RGB images. In the uniform cellular automata a transition matrix has been developed for edge detection. The Results have been compared to the ...

Radial View: Observing Fuzzy Cellular Automata with a New Visualization Method

Fuzzy Cellular Automata (FCA) are special couple map lattices that generalize Boolean cellular automata by allowing continuous values for the cell states. The local transition rule of a FCA is the “fuzzification" of the disjunctive normal form that describes the local function of the corresponding Boolean cellular automata. Recently there has been some interest in elementary Fuzzy cellular auto...

Modelling Mediterranean landscape succession-disturbance dynamics: A landscape fire-succession model

We present a spatially explicit Landscape Fire-Succession Model (LFSM) developed to represent Mediterranean Basin landscapes and capable of integrating modules and functions that explicitly represent human activity. Plant-functional types are used to represent spatial and temporal competition for resources (water and light) in a rule-based modelling framework. Vegetation dynamics are represente...
